Marcus & Millichap’s Michael Derk: How To Get The Best Deal For Your Loan 

LONG BEACH—May 20, 2009 - Michael Derk, Senior Director of Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC), will discuss  getting the best loans for investment deals at the Long Beach Commercial Real Estate Council (LBCREC.com) on June 5, 2009 at the Grand, 4101 E. Willow, Long Beach. Michael will give the inside on who is still in the market, who is lending, and the type of borrower that can get a loan in today’s market. Attendees will learn what borrowers can do to improve their chances on obtaining financing in this uncertain environment.

 

Michael Derk has excelled year over year while overseeing loan originations at Marcus & Millichap. In 2008, he closed 54 transactions for a total of just over $170 million in loans. Since joining the company in 2002, Michael has closed in excess of $650 million in loan dollars. Michael will share his insight on selecting the best loan from different financing options and diverse sources at the June LBCREC First Friday Breakfast.

About Michael Derk
A New York native, Michael Derk graduated from St. Bonaventure University in New York with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. After moving to the West Coast, he continued his studies earning a graduate degree in real estate from UCLA. During the course of his studies, he went abroad and studied at the prestigious Oxford University in England. Additionally, Michael holds a sales license from the California Department of Real Estate and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

 

Michael qualified for Marcus & Millichap’s National Achievement Award in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.  Additionally, Derk was named part of Southern California Real Estate Magazines “40 under 40” in 2004, a title that distinguishes Southern California's top performers in the real estate community under 40 years old. He achieved the highest revenue of all eight MMCC California loan originators in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
