Purpose

The Bank of America Scholarship provides tuition assistance to students who are interested in a career in commercial real estate. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence as the scholarship is intended to help qualified students pursue an education that will lead them into productive careers in commercial real estate in the Long Beach community.

Bank of America has participated in the Long Beach Commercial Real Estate Council since 1993 and have been active members ever since. They established the scholarship in 2005. This annual scholarship is Bank of America’s legacy, giving back to an industry that brought them so much joy and success.

About the Scholarship

One (1) 1,000 USD and two (2) 500 USD awards will be made to a full time student indicating a preference for a career in commercial real estate, real estate development or commercial real estate leasing. The Long Beach Commercial Real Estate Council will cover the cost of attending the award ceremony in Long Beach at the Annual Luncheon on May 22, 2008.

The scholarship award check will be made out to the student.

Who Should Apply?

The applicant must be an American Citizen who is a junior or senior student degree-seeking candidate for the upcoming fall academic term at an accredited college or university with a GPA in excess of a 3.0.

The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, April 30, 2008 (midnight PT).

Awards

All applications are confidential and will be reviewed by the Long Beach Commercial Real Estate Council Scholarship Committee and LBCEC staff only. Up to three (3) scholarship awards will be announced in mid-May 2008 and presented in May 22, 2008 at the 2008 LBCREC Annual Luncheon, The Westin, Long Beach, California.
